The Episcopal Vicar for Safeguarding and the Safeguarding Advisor are responsible for the planning and monitoring of all aspects of vulnerable groups work within the Diocese of Westminster, with the exception of schools who have their own arrangements. This involves responding to any allegations past or present, of inappropriate behaviour or actual abuse of children or vulnerable adults by any person working for the Diocese, either paid or voluntary, and liaising with the police and social services. It also involves promoting and implementing the National Policies for Child Protection or the Protection of Vulnerable Adults which have been adopted by the Diocese. All group leaders within the parish are responsible for ensuring that co workers and other volunteers have been checked by the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).

For more information, please refer to the Parish Safeguarding representative Mrs Theresa O’Hagan who can be reached at kingslandsg@safeguardrcdow.org.uk or via Mrs Ann Marie Burnett Charles, the Parish Administrator, in the parish office 0207 254 4378.
